Child-Education Objectives

"Education is the key to unlock the golden door to freedom” is a famous quote. The Palsamy Nadar trust understands the depth of this saying and has tirelessly contributed to the education of several students who have for no fault of theirs found themselves on the downside of advantage. The trust not only celebrates the students who do well in their studies, instead they go a step beyond to identify and appreciate the people who were responsible for passing down the knowledge to the kids – the teachers. The trust over the years, continues to recognize and award the teachers who have excelled at the noble art of teaching.
Over time several students in and around Sirkali, after excelling their school education found themselves stunted without financial support to pursue higher education. They started writing petitions to the trust asking for help. After carefully processing the petitions and applications, the trust went ahead and provided the financial assistance to deserving students. In addition to this, the trust also helped out a few schools in the surroundings by providing them with necessary equipments, accessories and stationaries. The trust also erected the roofs of few other schools.
The great leader Kamarajar envisioned a future for the state wherein, he hoped to see one primary school every one mile and one higher secondary school every three miles. He did not stop with just dreaming the future, he went ahead and built it as well. His mid-day meals scheme which still is considered by many as a path-breaking initiative, drew scores of poor children towards the schools. This initiative is still flourishing in Tamil Nadu, making it a model for the other states to follow.
To commemorate the deeds of this selfless leader, on his birthday, the trust recognizes and awards students who have displayed outstanding academic performances. This initiative which was once restricted to the central region of Sirkali, has now expanded to bring under its umbrella the entire town of Sirkali. On this day, the trust also awards the students who have secured the highest marks both at the district and state level. Apart from providing free education to several students, the trust literally bridges the gap between their homes and school through its extensive fleet of buses and vans.Covering a radius of 15 kilometers around the town of Sirkali, the transport services provided by the trust ply several hundred students from the villages around the town back and forth to their schools. Ably qualified drivers and cleaners combined with well-maintained vehicles ensure a safe and smooth journey for the students.



Sports Objectives

The trust very well understands that a sound mind can exist only in a sound body. The trust has always encouraged the overall development of students and has taken several measures and rendered invaluable services to encourage students who are devoted to sports and games. The Sirkali Football Federation conducted a Football tournament which was hosted by the Sabanayaga Hindu Higher Secondary school and LMC School. The trust sponsored the prize for the winners of this tournament.
In the Basketball tournament hosted by the Sirkali Basketball Federation, the trust sponsored the prize for the winners. The Sirkali Volley Ball Federation hosted an Inter-state volleyball tournament, also for which the trust sponsored the first prize. The Kamraj Kabadi Federation situated in the Eesani Street, hosts an annual Kabadi competition on the eve of the Pongal Festival, the prize for the winners of this tournament is also sponsored by the trust.

Social Service Objectives

“There is no higher religion than Human Service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed” The Palsamy Nadar trust has stood and continues to stand as a testament to the above quote. During the global disaster of Tsunami in the year 2004, the trust stood by the people totally unfazed. Over the course of the week following the tragedy, the trust helped relocate scores of people, providing them with shelter, clothes and freshly cooked food.
The trust has a unique knack of spotting the talent in people, irrespective of the field of their profession or expertise. The trust not only identifies talent, but also goes out of the way to support and encourage them during times of distress, thereby egging on these talents in the pursuit of their dreams.The trust makes it a point to make a positive difference in the local hospitals and health centres. Members of the trust pay regular visits and ensure the premises are clean and hygienic. The trust also helps the poor and the physically challenged to get the medical treatment and service they need.

Patriotism Objectives

The trust realizes that the students of this country need to be educated on the greatness of Mother India which would instill in them a sense of pride about being Indians. Several initiatives have been taken up by the trust to ingrain patriotism amongst the students. The portraits of several patriots and freedom fighters of our country have been displayed within the premises of the school and offices of the trust.
The birthday of the great humanitarian and one of the most imaginative leaders of the state, Mr. Kamarajar, is celebrated every year by the trust in a grand scale. Every year, functions are organized to celebrate India’s Independence Day, Republic day and also e Teacher’s day. In these functions several extra-curricular events like Debate, Singing and Dance Competitions, Fancy Dress and Drawing competitions are organized to enable a 360 degree development of the students.
The trust also recognizes eminent educationalists, social workers and sportsmen and awards them every year during the birthday celebrations of Mr. Kamarajar. To ignite the spark of young writers, the trust has established a state of the art library stacked with several books covering various subjects and ideologies. Every year during the school’s annual day celebrations, photographs of great leaders of our country are instated by contemporary greats from our society.
In additional to these initiatives, Monthly and Annual Calendars and Diaries printed with photographs of National Leaders are distributed to the public and also to the employees of Private and Government organizations.
